A patio door used to be the term for a sliding door that lead into the garden or paved area at the rear of a property. This now includes all doors: single uPVC, sliding, French, and bi-folds. This is why we ask various questions over the phone to find out what we will be encountering.

Danum Locksmiths has a lot of original stock stored away. So, we can fix doors over 30 years old. We can also revive your old patio door. The average lifespan of a patio locking mechanism is approximately 10-12 years. I want to think that at that age, the door is still looking good, so let’s repair it rather than replace it.
If the patio door is in a locked position and you are unable to open it, as experienced locksmiths, it won’t be a problem. We will be able to open the door without any fuss—guaranteed.
If the door remains open and cannot be locked, it may put the security of your property at risk. We will aim to get to you the same day of the call and, if possible, in 60 minutes. We will not charge extra for this emergency call-out as well.
If, for some reason, it is not cost-effective to repair your patio door, we promise not to charge for the call-out. We will usually give a quote over the phone. If, on inspection, we think it’s better to change the door, we will advise that for free. Incidentally, we do not fit new patio doors, so we do not benefit from recommending a new door.

The patio lock can be exchanged if keys are missing or if you are looking for an upgrade. You can swap the handles at the same time or later if only the handles are the issue and need upgrading.
