Wooden
We recommend a mortice deadlock (a ‘Chubb’ lock) and a rim night latch (a ‘Yale’ lock) for wooden doors. These British Standard (BS3621) locks meet insurance requirements. They provide better security for your peace of mind. There is a misconception that the locks on wooden doors are inferior to the type fitted on uPVC doors. This is not true. A British Standard lock on a wooden door is the best security. Add a mortice and a Yale to a wooden door, which is often seen. Then, you can guarantee your safety from unwanted intruders.
uPVC or composite
uPVC doors have a multipoint lock to hold and keep them secure. The setup on these varies immensely, with a mix of compression rollers, hooks and deadbolts or pins. This number has changed; recently, we have seen it reduced, and insurance companies no longer demand a minimum of five points. We recommend fitting a three-star high-security cylinder like the Ultion here. These will ensure that thieves cannot snap your locks and gain access. It does not matter how many locking points there are when the weak point is the cylinder itself,
Metal
The lock for metal doors will be mortised into the door and generally be a standard or multi-point sash lock. Insurance policies require suitable dead or sash locks, and they may also need internal locking bolts on the top and bottom. The adaptability of commercial doors means they can open up a vast array of fitted lock types, providing you with a range of options to suit your security needs.
Sliding patio
